World Family Doctor
Day 2025
“Building
Mental Resilience in a Changing World”
May 19, 2025
Welcome to the official WFDD Caribbean 2025
showcase — a celebration of the heart, resilience, and unity of family doctors
across the Caribbean.
World Family Doctor Day (WFDD) is
commemorated globally on May 19 each year, offering us the opportunity to
recognize the vital role family physicians play in delivering community-based,
patient-centered care.
This year’s theme, “Building Mental
Resilience in a Changing World,” resonates deeply with our regional challenges
— from climate change and economic shifts to the mental health impacts of
isolation and chronic disease. Yet, through it all, our family doctors remain
at the front lines, helping patients, families, and entire communities stay
grounded, hopeful, and strong.
Across the Caribbean, from Antigua to
Trinidad, we’ve come together — despite our geographical separation — to
celebrate this special day through a variety of events, health fairs, school
outreach programs, media campaigns, community walks, academic forums, and more.
